Waste activated sludge

OxycairTM technology is the ideal treatment solution for secondary sludge. The systems employ unique, patented processes to stabilize secondary sludge and reduce treatment and sludge handling costs.

In conventional secondary wastewater treatment plants, a portion of the sludge is wasted in order to maintain the correct food/micro-organism (F/M) ratio in aerobic bioreactors.

This waste activated sludge (WAS) is treated chemically and eventually added to primary sludge volumes, requiring a large increase in chemical and sludge management costs.

Alternatively, OxycairTM processors use no chemicals and return 100% of the secondary sludge stream directly back to the bioreactor. In addition to reducing overall sludge volume and associated odor, the treated WAS, as a nutritive supplement, maintains the F/M balance with nutrients and micro-nutrients from the destructed bacteria.

OxycairTM treatment for secondary sludge is a service provided by Oxycair Technologies Inc. who manages the treatment of the secondary sludge stream and takes full responsibility for the reliability and performance of the processor. It’s a risk-free, money-saving alternative.
